Bob Ballard

Bob Ballard is a former United States Navy officer and now a professor of oceanography. In the video "Why Do Ee Explore", Dr. Ballard discusses the importance of understanding our ocean. I learned that not only is 50% of America is under water but that we have only explore 25% of the ocean and the other 75% remains untouched. I do agree that exploring the ocean is important for us to understand our world before we go into other areas around us such as space. With thousand of active volcanoes along the riff valley it is important that we are able to secure our home and land from self destruction.
